New Credit Cultural Committee Engagement and Governance Planning

Supporting the members of the Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation, New Credit Cultural Committee and Susan Robertson have hosted three community planning sessions to support the development of future plans for the New Credit Cultural Committee. As work continues, People Plan Community looks forward to leveraging community input for the benefit of greater cultural presence on Treaty and ancestral lands.

People Plan Community facilitated engagement and governance planning for the New Credit Cultural Committee, supporting local leadership and decision-making structures. The work focused on creating participatory processes that reflected community priorities and strengthened the capacity for ongoing cultural and planning initiatives. The project reinforced the community’s ability to manage and guide its own development within culturally grounded frameworks.

Environmental Planning Unit Framework

In 2020, People Plan Community created an Environmental Unit Framework for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The Framework established clear goals, structures, and roles to help the Department of Consultation and Accommodation meet its constitutional consultation and engagement responsibilities.
