Shared Path Consultation Initiative Indigenous Municipal Engagement Project

People Plan Community provided strategic facilitation and planning support to the Shared Path Consultation Initiative — a collaborative effort to improve Indigenous–municipal engagement processes in southern Ontario. Through guidance on policy alignment, relationship-building, and engagement design, the work helped municipal governments recognize Indigenous rights and integrate reconciliation into planning frameworks.

Focus: Strengthening consultation practices between Indigenous and municipal partners for equitable planning outcomes.

Environmental Planning Unit Framework

In 2020, People Plan Community created an Environmental Unit Framework for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The Framework established clear goals, structures, and roles to help the Department of Consultation and Accommodation meet its constitutional consultation and engagement responsibilities.
