The Moccasin Identifier

As an Indigenous led initiative, the Moccasin Identifier aims to cover Canada in moccasins so that all Canadians understand their Treaty responsibilities and Indigenous relationship to land. Founded by Carolyn King, C.M. of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Susan has been the Strategic Coordinator since 2018 and supports with fundraising, project management, place-knowing installations and partnership development. Through collaboration with the Moccasin Identifierâ„¢ project, People Plan Community provided strategic planning and capacity development support to build the initiative from the ground up to the functioning Indigenous NFP that it is today. The work connected Indigenous history, education, and planning to promote recognition and understanding through education and place-knowing.

Focus: Promoting visibility of Indigenous presence through planning and design.
