Camp Naivelt, a century-old cultural landscape in Brampton, stands as a unique example of community heritage and environmental stewardship. People Plan Community supported the camp by ensuring that newly planned adjacent development respected its cultural and environmental significance. Through planning guidance and heritage-based advocacy, the work protected the site’s natural and cultural integrity for future generations.
Focus: Protecting cultural heritage and environmental integrity through community-centered planning.
Environmental Planning Unit Framework
In 2020, People Plan Community created an Environmental Unit Framework for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The Framework established clear goals, structures, and roles to help the Department of Consultation and Accommodation meet its constitutional consultation and engagement responsibilities.
