In May 2020, People Plan Community prepared an Environmental Unit Framework for the Department of Consultation and Accommodation for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This precedent setting Unit Framework, developed departmental unit principles, goals and sectors for the First Nation. It also developed staff positions and descriptions for Unit sector as well as a high level summary of environmental laws and policies in Ontario and Canada that the Unit would contend with, as part of duty to consult and accommodate engagement and consultation processes.

Focus: The goal of this work was to create a Unit Framework, that the Department could easily implement, to support with constitutionally protected consultation and engagement requirements.
